The 1957 FA Cup Final was between Manchester United and Aston Villa, with Villa winning 2-1.
The 1957 Cup Final was marred by a 6th minute collision between Villa forward Peter McParland and United goalkeeper Ray Wood, which left Wood unconscious with a broken cheekbone. Wood left the pitch and Jackie Blanchflower took over in goal for United.
